Catching up on posts... The Norwegian Purl was described in an article by Beth Brown-Reinsel in an early Threads magazine. It was reprinted in one of the compilation books that Threads put out containing their knitting articles. Beth wrote about a variety of knitting techniques. I read and re-read the section on the purl stitch until I figured it out. I later took a class with her and I described the technique to her and said I saw it in Threads, and then she told me she was the author. It was funny rather than embarrassing, fortunately. She was pleased to find that someone could figure it out from the photos and description.

I for one always enjoy Bird Cam.
