babysitter and socknitter

The very best part of a very busy day yesterday? I got to play babysitter/Aunt Cassie to "Thumper" (who I think should be renamed Scooter, as that's what he's doing most of the time these days - scooting around on the floor).

Couldn't you just die from The Cute?

Please note, I mussed his hair purposefully for these photos. I think he looks great with a mohawk.

Mohawk

And then, of course, there was some knitting. Boring compared to adorable babies, I know, but I only got a little while with the Incredible Cuteness.

Loksins sock "gulur", updated -

Loksinsgulur

I'm up to the heel flap. I like the yellow. I'm still wondering why I've gotten so many odd responses to the yellow. I love yellow. I wear yellow. And now ... I knit with yellow. Deal with it people, okay? Yellow is the new red. Or something.

To continue my fits of startitis ... well, this is a bit of a reknit, but it's still new.

Regiasilkblob

This embryonic blob of a sock is in Regia Silk. It's most probably going to be my next sock pattern. It's one I've knit before, but took horrendous notes on and so I have to knit it again. (And I do mean horrendous notes - one index card, with scribbles. Not very helpful. One day I'll learn.)

Anyone who mentions bamboo or Lotus Blossom or tank tops gets a smack. That's all I'm saying about that.

I generally check you and Dogs steal yarn in close succession with my coffee. "Dang," thinks I, "wrong site...No, Cassie's found a kid who looks just like...Well, who knew?" But if she's posted something about Iceland this morning I'm gonna know y'all are messing with my head...

Bamboo! ...ouch.

Adorable kid, especially with the mohawk.

You know my thoughts on the bamboo. Yes, it is lovely but it's still not too late to pull it all out. Just because it's so nearly done doesn't mean that you have to finish it. Just rip it out and give the yarn to someone else for them to torture their hands with. Go buy a cotton tank and spend your time knitting the lovely wool.

Blond mussy baby hair! Wee! :-)

Hmmmm..........I'm betting I know what the little sock blob is going to be...heehee!

What a beautiful baby Thumper is!

Hey! What happened to Finishitis???? :Þ

Yellow is good!

He is adorable! Lucky babysitter. And I'm all for yellow.

When have you worn yellow?

That Thumper is beyond cute. I'm envious that you got to hang with him. The last time I saw him, he slept through the visit. That said, he's as cute asleep as he is awake. I had to rip my sock last night. I should know better than to try to knit when I'm tired.

Jess loves yellow. the challenge we have is finding wool in a pretty yellow.

bamboo! /ducking and running

That Marcy. She really DIDN'T mention any of the unmentionables.

The yellow is good. 'K? It's bright and happy. At least it isn't orange.

I just gave my kid a mohawk two days ago.

That yellow sock is FIERCE and don't let anybody tell you different, girl! And what's wrong with orange? I like orange.

Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

Blessings!

Yellow is even nicer when you call it 'gold'. Because who doesn't love gold? (Nobody. We all love gold.)

The sock, it is good.

bamboo. lotus blossom. tank top.
i doubt you'll travel this far for a smak.
i'm finding myself strangely attracted to yellow lately. knit on.
did I say bamboo, yet? or lotus blossom tank top?

I like yellow. Knit on.

Thanks again for the help yesterday. But you totally jinxed me. I got home and screwed up my back.

I like yellow too! I did learn through work, that when you make a yellow garment - NO ONE will buy it...NO ONE.

I like the yellow--it's a very cheerful color. And if you wear yellow you might as well have socks to match!

I love a pale, rich buttercreme yellow. Lemon yellows have their place. A classy gold with undertones of red and brown is very good.

But, I'm sorry, that shade of taxi cab yellow reminds me too much of my somewhat tacky grandmother, who loved it, and looks paticularly bad on me.

Not that that will or should affect you affection for the color. Revel in your lovely, warm, glowing yellow socks, please.

I can share your feelings on bamboo, though. I just finished a fairly loosely knit scarf in Bonsai. Even at a loose gauge, the YOs and K2togs got to my hands. And I should put 'finished' in quotes. I still have to figure out how to sew in the ends so they don't slither right back out.

Thumper = cute1
Yellow on the feet = OK
Yellow near the face =jaundice

Ooo, I love the blob. What a great color & texture.
